Southpark Church

SouthPark Church demolishes its original congregation and constructs a new 90,000-SF church structure.

The four-story church, consisting of a steel-framed and concrete structure, is wrapped with brick, Arriscraft stone, EIFS, aluminum composite panels, cement board siding and a storefront glass system. A custom, 180-foot tall steel and mesh cross and ribbon feature accentuates the exterior. Additionally, an LED screen is installed to the exterior of the building to generate additional income for the church and highlight community events. Several rooftop patio areas with custom laser-cut patterned aluminum railings serve as gathering areas and outdoor learning areas. Ground level retail activates the building attracting parishioners and guests. This new modern campus creates a place where people can live, work, shop, eat, enjoy the arts, and worship.

The interior of the church features both traditional and contemporary worship spaces, as well a chapel and administrative areas. Traditional worship has a custom pipe organ assembly with a loft housing the components. State-of-the-art AV, theatrical lighting, and high-end speakers are installed throughout both worship areas. Interior finishes include attractive, polished concrete floors, wood accents, and acoustical fabric panels for sound absorption. Engaging classrooms with a mobile check-in desk and roll up door inspire the church’s youth.

Surrounded by a fellow general contractor’s jobsite, deliveries and logistics were carefully coordinated together including the efficient use of our mobile crane simultaneous to the controlling contractors two tower cranes. A Siphonic roof drainage system is installed, incorporating smaller and flat runs of piping to allow for more overhead clearance due nine different roof elevation levels and configurations. Structural components are also in place for future “performing arts” venue with balcony. Most impressively, 95% of the structural construction activities are performed within the building footprint.
