Niagara Bottling - Multiple Locations

Niagara Bottling continues to expand their manufacturing and distribution operations in Kansas City, MO and Temple, TX. These projects implement fast-track schedules to complete the design-build facility’s in approximately 10 months.

I have worked on a total of three projects for this client totaling 1,233,019 SF. Each of these three projects had unique challenges from doing an entire ground up facility to building a 174,304 SF expansion to an existing, operational facility that remained operational throughout construction and refitting and existing spec building to handle the new heavy industrial process piping loads by reinforcing 125,000 SF of existing joists and girders.

The Kansas City 1 facility is responsible for processing and packaging water, as well as manufacturing the bottles and caps used for distribution. German fabricated injection and blow molding lines are housed within the facility. These manufacturing lines operate at high speeds and allow for highly automated production. The Temple TX expansion and Kansas City 2 facilities were both responsible for processing and packaging aseptic products and contained heavier duty process piping like stainless steel and CPVC waste lines that went to an on site wastewater treatment facility before entering the public septic system.

All of these facilities are constructed on slab on grade with exterior concrete tilt walls, a structural steel frame, and topped with an insulated TPO roof. Stainless steel trench drains collect the waste and overflow in the process areas. IMP walls both for demising spaces and providing insulation for cooler and freezer spaces. Epoxy flooring throughout the process areas both protect and seal the slab. Labs and other office spaces both provide support for the process work in their respective plants.
